بیوگرافی کوروش یغمایی
استاد کوروش یغمایی در سال ۱۳۲۳ در شاهرود و در خانواده ای به دنیا آمد که بیش از یک سده به ادب و هنر در منطقه کویر مشهور بودند، از جمله این بزرگان یغمای جندقی و حبیب یغمایی از شاعران بنام ایران زمین هستند.
زادگاه پدری استاد شهری کویری و زیبا در استان اصفهان بنام خور و بیابانک است که شهری است با مردمانی با فرهنگ که اکثر آنها با شعر و شاعری پیوندی ناگسستنی دارند.
خانواده یغمایی در همان سالهای کودکی استاد به تهران آمدند تا کوروش دوران طلایی عمر خود را تا به حال در این شهر سپری کند.
پدر استاد وقتی او تنها ۸ سال داشت برایش سنتور خرید و کوروش نیز برای احترام به انتخاب خانواده شروع به یادگیری سنتور نمود و حتی به مراحل حرفه ای هم رسید. او در ۱۲ سالگی شروع به نواختن گیتار که همواره علاقه خاصی به آن داشت کرد. نکته جالب در مورد سلطان راک این است که او در هیچ زمینه ای استاد نداشت و خود به تنهایی نواختن را آموخت.
استاد دارای مدرک لیسانس جامعه شناسی از دانشگاه ملی است. او در ۲۰ سالگی ازدواج کرد که حاصل این ازدواج ۳ فرزند بنام های کاوه، کامیل و ساتگین است که هر ۳ قدم در راه پدر گذاشتند و امروز از بهترین های موسیقی ایران هستند.
